This is a poem written from someone who knows what it's like to wait for rain and then the wonderful sound of listening to it when it finally comes. Nice one Craig,
cheers,
valda

Hi Craig. Nicely done. There is something cozy about that sound. Most people feel that way about it. A well written 15 syllable poem. Much luck in the contest. Marilyn

Hey, Craig,
I read through your 15 syllable poem

A pleasing arrangement, with a feel-good effect. Solid imagery, and with a simple but effective close, reminding me that poetry does not have to be dripping with overages to strum the cords of existence.

We've had a lot of rain in my area this year, and I smiled at the way my life experiences took this poem's words.

Last time I was under a metal roof for a rainstorm, I was at work, and I stopped to pause and listen. I'd reflected on the sound, and my bitter-sweet relation with being employed there... when it rains it pours. But at that moment, life was good... things were working, and though that could change at any moment, given our current climate, I still was working, so I'd thought, ah... that pouring sound, sounds so good.

You're lucky to have had plenty, Turtle. We've had less than normal this year, and normal isn't enough. Alas, this poem was more a wishful dream than based in fact (but life is pretty good anyway, it just would be better with some rain).

I hope you remain in your current job as long as you want to.

Most grateful for your wonderful comments. I feel I should say that when I see your name, I have come to expect a thoughtful, helpful and encouraging review, but that doesn't mean that it's in the slightest taken for granted.

    Cheers,
    Craig

I love the sound of rain on roof, and a tin roof gives it a fine percussive effect! Well worded. Life is good for sure...

Fine entry. Good luck, my friend.

You'll have noticed I am not reviewing often. Been busy and also traveling. Will visit FS on occasion.

Blessings,
rd

Thanks, my dear friend. I've not been writing much lately. Very busy editing novels. But I might write one soon.

I just don't have time to post and reply much!

    Warmly, rd

That must be especially like music to your ears if you haven't heard rain in a while. We get rain most of the year but I do like the pitter-patter rhythm of rain especially at night. Great job with the haiku-like poem, Craig!

You did it, Craig. You created a sweet mood with your fifteen syllables. That's what it's all about to me. Sometimes I get lost in the word plays and sounds. You kept your eye on the prize for sure.
I hope you win with this one. I really like it.

Like you I also enjoy the sound of rain on a tin roof, as long as it doesn't go on for months. LOL

Love this and here's hoping the Contest Committee does too.

Thanks for the sweet music.

Gloria

Thanks so much, Gloria. Most appreciated :)

Not much chance of it going on for hours in these parts, let alone months, unfortunately.

    Cheers,
    Craig

A very well-written fifteen syllable poem about the rain sounds on a tin roof that is a priceless Symphony that I also enjoyed in my childhood. Now, we have tile roofs that mostly dampens the sound of rain.

It's definitely not the same for those who have tiled roofs, Sandra. Thanks for the kind words, Craig
