Thank you very much!
Comment from Pam (respa)
-A good chapter, Tony, that has a few surprises.
-Sorry that Charles had to go through
some tough stuff emotionally, but it
seemed like it was bound to happen.
-Luckily for him, Bisto appeared.
-I am not sure how he and Kayla
knew all of this-where he was, etc.,
but they certainly picked a good time!
-I would assume there is a story behind it all.
-Bisto and Kayla is a combination!
-It sounds like they have found a very
nice place for Charles to be.
-If anyone deserves it, it's him and,
of course, Helen, but we will have
to wait to find out about her.

Thanks, Pam, I appreciate your comments. I hope to use Bisto and Kayla to tie a few things together before the end. All good wishes for the weekend, Tony.

You are very welcome, Tony. I figured that was your plan. So you must be getting close to the big reveal:) You have a great weekend, too.

Is tfawcus channeling the ghost of Graham Greene? I mean that rhetorical question as a high compliment. This scribe's prose need not be evaluated WRT grammar, syntax, et caetera, for he has mastered those mundane details. BTW: That "gripping" joke with the pink ribbon -- a cure for cancer indeed! -- is worth the price of admission. Ouch!
My only complaint is the spelling: "somber," not "somber;" and "civilized," not "civilized!" (Dumb American joke.) Hey, seriously ... this ol' boah wrahtes ree-yul good, as we say in Kentucky. Kudos!

Thanks, AvL, I appreciate your comments and the sixth star. The suggestion that I'm basking in the shadow of Graham Greene is a rare compliment. All good wishes for the weekend, Tony.

I don't suppose there is any good place in prison. Solitary would be nice for a little while, but hard after an extended period. We saw in a previous chapter a poor soul going mad even though he was with the others. I suppose we will find out in a later chapter just how long poor Charles had to endure his incarceration.
You build the tension well, also, the sense of relief at the end when Charles finally accepts he is back in a civilized place.

Thanks, W.J., I appreciate your comments. Prison, under any circumstances, is degrading and hard to bear. Thanks for your comments about the way the tension is built. All good wishes for the weekend, Tony.

He's out of there. Helen must have let the world know where he was and what was going on. I can only imagine how confused he must be right now. Imagining Helen's pictures is a little more fun, especially the one with the ribbon tied around his bits.

Once again, you have evoked my senses as I read this chapter. I could feel the fear, the disorientation. I wonder what will lay ahead and look forward to the next chapter.

Thanks, Pam, for your continued support and interest. There?s a bit of backstory to come in the next chapter that refers to characters and incidents from earlier in the story.

Well of course, I'm thrilled he's free. But the circumstances of gaining his freedom point to collusion on the part of many. This was an exciting chapter, Tony. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully Jan

Thanks, Jan. Yes, there was quite a bit going on behind the scenes leading up to Charles?s release.

I can really feel Charles's emotions with your descriptions Tony. From the dark and silent cell suddenly out into the business of the streets, overwhelming. A chapter full of different emotions, well told Tony.
Loved it,
cheers,

I can understand how Bristo got there to rescue Charles, but have me completely confused with Kayla. Did I miss something? I thought she was hooked on druggs and trying to get clean. Oh my!! You have weaved a story.

Thanks for your review and comments, Barbara. No, you've not missed anything in the story. However, events have been unfolding while Charles was in prison. These should become clearer in the final chapters of the book. I hope so, anyway! All good wishes, Tony
Comment from Bill Pinder
Good job with this chapter about Charles being released while he still has some sanity and health left. Looking forward to the next chapter to hear more details and possibly what happened to Helen. Bill
