I have heard of the book of course, but never read it or watched the movie. The answer to everything is 42? Perhaps as the result of 7 x 6? Would be my first guess. I much appreciated the author's note or else I confess I would have been clueless.

Okay, now you've piqued my curiosity and I will spend the rest of the night searching out 42! Off the top of my head I'm thinking 7X6...Seven versus Six.... Seven = good, Six = evil.... Whatttt?? Sigh. Guess I will have to research this. Great read that I shall explore and ponder more upon.

    Well, I went exploring and I must say that I prefer the author's explanation. LOL! Although it was fun seeing how all the computer wizzes went mathematically wild.

This is an interesting poem. I am not a Hitchhiker, but everyone raves about it. I will check into the significance of 42 and you, in turn, can check out the significance of the 11:11. Marilyn

You are certainly right in your articulate poem that everyone for generations has been asking and musing about the meaning of life. And the poem hits the mark as a good read. But, as you say, 42, I don't have a clue. Well done.

I much prefer the second half of this poem (the first is two male-orientated it seems). It is very rich but like being trapped in a maze - confusing and complicated.
