I'm so glad all were able to meet before Carl's death. That would have been hard for those left to deal with. You did a great job, Sally. Your story flows well with great detail. Everything is believable. I love the way it began with the moon watching of Carl And Tamara and ended almost the same. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully with Love and Admiration. Jan

Sally,
This is a well written beginning to the letters. It shows how clear your mistakes become when death is at the door. It shows love, regret and forgiveness in both parties. It is so good that they reunited to enjoy the best part of their life before he left.+
Congrats on the story of the month. Keep writing.

This is a very moving and interesting story/chapter.
Well told and emotional. It's easy to see why this was nominated for the Story of the Month contest.
I wish you lots of luck.

Oh, Sally, how deeply this letter of love has touched my heart. Why do we wait til it's almost too late to undo a wrong? No pride is worth it, regardless of the results. At least one takes the chance to feel loving arms again.
Your story is so believable. Hopefully your readers will think hard, well, maybe not so hard...and just take the step. I know I will.
I will save this story/letter to remind myself in the future, not to give up.
God bless.

It's crazy how a life changing diagnosis can change our entire lives. His daughter gave him the best gift she would have ever given him and he probably the same with her. I loved it.

Oh Sally, this is pure magic. I had tears in my eyes reading this emotional story. I'm reading through the story of the month contests, and this one is by far the best I've read. I'm so pleased father and daughter were able to see each other one last time. How sad it would be not to have known how each life had grown. Your words were perfect. Well done and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

What a sweet story of a heart warming reunion and forgiveness! I love that it showed how forgiveness heals relationships.
The timeline was just a bit unclear to me. Did she receive the letter a week later and her husband opened it and that was why he told her she needed to come home immediately? Or did her husband message her and then a week after that Carl was fumbling for a pen?
The way the story ended was very uplifting. We see that Carl and Tamara had time to bond before he was gone. It was nice to see them both at peace.

Precious, beautiful story! I am wondering if some or all of it is true -- I know it could be. It is amazing how reaching out to another person can heal a soul. Forgiveness and release from guilt can be more important than physical healing. I love the way this daughter was so ready to forgive her "prodigal" father, while it was of the utmost importance for him to be reconciled to her. They both had open hearts, and the daughter's husband also understood it, and didn't stand in the way. This was so well written and lovely.
