I felt the windy breeze in these words but the poem has the feel of a free write rather than rhyming verse, maybe it's because there is no particular meter here, love Dolly x

My thought was to let the piece flow much like the winds, with no pattern.

This is such a lovely and well written poem about the season of the year that many of us do find hard to endure. Your W alliteration is very well done.

You painted a picture of winter dying down and how spring moves slowly in. I could almost feel the breeze as the wind was kicking up a bit. The picture you put with your poem matched well. Good luck with the contest!

Very visual poem, I could not only hear the wind but see it swirl the leaves into the air. I love the accompanying art work as well. This piece really sets a mood.

In my opinion, goodness, out of Six Stars already, unfortunately, and it's only Monday - this deserves that rating - please accept my virtual one. I enjoyed the read and its distinctive rhyme. Best wishes in the contest...

Eve, than you for the virtual six.

You are very welcome indeed, JLR, especially given the number of talented writers on this site and our minimal allotment of shining "Sixes" ...Eve

This is a lyrical entry for the Rhyming Poetry contest. The rhyme and rhythm make for a smooth, delightful read. I loved the title and repeated phrase, Winnowing Winter Winds. From the use of 'Winnowing' to the alliteration. Great job. Good luck in the contest.

The onomatopoeia excellent excels in this poem. With every descriptive sound, the poem edges closer from the harsh winter into the joy of warmer times. Fantastic job!

Excellent ...
It works well with a good rhyme and smooth delivery its voice is constant and heard with a conclusion with a realistic and naturalistic meaning everything has a beginning and everything has an end only infinity continues everlasting and eternity has no beginning.
