Advice to the Royals

This is very interesting and very well thought out. I think that their are many thoughts about the royals. I think that the two trains of thought that you've expressed are the most popular. You want royal people to act like it but to sometimes show glimpses of themselves to be regular people. I think that on the other hand, mostly the radical, defiant, and rebellious want to relate to a royal person who doesn't represent the title at all. Thanks for sharing this well written work. Well done!

What a wonderful story. Even though it was fairly long it was such a breeze to read your work. It did bring up a lot of questions and things to think about. I enjoyed reading this very much.

This is a very interesting writing entry for the Royalty writing contest. It is well written, thoughts well organized, and a good suggestion for royalty at the end.

Well, you have made me revise my previous opinion. I thought I was going to enter this contest, but now I'm not so sure I want to play "Can You Top This?" Maybe I'll stash my piece for another opportunity to bemuse those Anglophiles and Anglophobes. You have bemused them enough for now.

No, that's not bad advice at all. Add to it "remember where you came from." In most cases, it's from parents who struggled and sacrificed so you wouldn't have to.
For whatever reason (probably seeing how the other half lives), I've always been fascinated by the royals myself. Thank you for these interesting first- and second-hand glimpses into certain royals. I love the picture you described of the future queen square-dancing in full square-dance regalia. My favorite shots of the queen, and of the late Princess Diana, were always the ones of them with their children and, in the queen's case, grandchildren. These photos humanize them. Yes, we want them to be somewhat "above" us, or royalty wouldn't be special, but we also want to know there's a part we can relate to. Your examples have done a good job of showing both sides. Good luck in the contest.

I like your commentary on royalty. I enjoyed the variety of royal experiences... especially the "not" buying the magazine one. That was hilarious. This was very entertaining and well written. -January L.

I laughed when I got to the part about spelling the square dance move wrong. I would actually leave that. You could google it, but why when it's so funny? I enjoyed this.

Extremely well written. Personally relevant to the writer. Excellent grammar and intelligent, seasoned word choices. Easy to read. Interesting. Nothing to be changed.
I clock into People.com/royalty everyday to check on things so I agree with your view point :)
Thank you for the pleasure of reading your story.
Well done!

Thank you, Lucy. I suspect that you and I will be in the minority.
