I've heard the world was once inhabited by elves and fairies. Maybe you were one in another life eons ago. Are you channeling these creatures to help you write this story? :-) Great use of dialogue to carry the plot.

Hi Shari,
What a fun review. You ask some interesting questions. Thanks for the comment about the dialogue.
I am sorry for the late response. I've had some computer difficulties lately.

Another fascinating instalment in this tale. Plenty of conflict and the foreshadowing of further difficulties for the hero. He has a great deal of adjusting to do before he becomes comfortable in his role on the cusp of two opposing forces.

Hi Tony,
Thank you for the analysis and excellent rating for this chapter. Yes, Piper has a lot to deal with.

This chapter is particularly great. Poor Piper I think he either knew who he as and pretended or he did not. Still he ought to ...no?
He lived the the castle and of a great name, very cultured..a beautiful character, but he almost ran into trouble. What are those three going to do to him, I'll wait and see. I enjoyed reading the story and beautiful conversations thoroughly.
Beautifully tapestried.

Comment from Pam (respa)
-This is quite a chapter, Debi, and one I didn't expect.
-It is well written, beginning with the relief of Piper
as Rupert accepts him as an elemental.
-The scenes with these new characters
are quite interesting and surprising.
-So far, things in the fae's realm have
been peaceful and serene, but these
boys show a very different character,
being very bullish and challenging.
-From their comments about Piper's flute
and Rupert's dancing, you can feel the
tension and ridicule in what they say.
-Lynx is a huge surprise by punching one
of them in the stomach; it's a good thing
Raven showed up, although I don't recall him, either.
-The final scene is very good, too, as Lynx now
turns on Piper about his name.
-It seems like Piper is on the wrong side
of things this day, except for Rupert.
-I fully expected those boys to rush him
and Rupert and steal the flute.
-This was well written and now leaves
many more things for poor Piper to deal with.

Hi Pam,
Thank you for the shiny six stars.
I am delighted to hear you had a few surprises in this chapter. I wouldn't want things to get too predictable. Thank you for the comments about the writing. I am happy to hear you could sense the tension between the characters.
Piper is having a hard day, but we all do sometimes.
I appreciate your conintued support and assistance.

Hello Debi,
A masterful addition to Piper's tale. You revealed a great deal in this chapter, about both Piper and Lynx, as well as the elven world. It seems there is jealousy, envy and a bit of bullying in their world, not unlike the human world.
It seems Lynx is a bit impulse, and has some maturing to do, as Master Falcon noted.
Rupert is the loyal friend. I wonder how long he can keep the secret.
I suspect Burkehart will soon make an appearance.
In the end, I think the pipe will prove to be the key to harmony.
Six stars to shine on Elfhaven.

WOW, Pipper is an elemental with a beautiful melodious name.
"Lynx's jaw tightened in a manner that reminded Piper of Redd-Leif. "And your name is Piper Summerstorm, you hear? If Mama hears you say anything else, it will make her cry." With that, Lynx stalked away."
Thank you for sharing and good luck with the contest.

Hi Yvette,
Yes, when you are new to the area you have to learn the customs. Poor Piper is at a disadvantage.
Thank you for the encouraging comments about the interactions and the new characters. It is great to hear you look forward to more.
I am grateful for the shiny six stars. Thank you so much.

Hi there,
A very nice instalment once again. A reassuring reaction to the news from Rupert and it seems prejudice follows in all races here as it does in the human world. Great stuff.
Thay all turned to look at the newcomer. - They.
All the best

W.J.,
You accomplished telling the background story
of Piper; all through dialogue. You mastered this
feat nicely.
Your story grows with characters and a new home
for Piper. You have set up the next chapter with the
skill of an experienced writer.
You enhance the reader to anticipate what the future
holds for Piper.
Peace,
Richie b
