LOL!! Okay - so, maybe it's time to stop making excuses for hitting the bottle and just going straight to hitting it! ;) An offering that has those subtle undertones of the suffering many endure in isolation... Best of luck in the contest!

You've written an interesting paradoxical piece for the contest
that many will relate to in these pandemic times.
A bit more like prose than poetry, but free style could mean anything.
Interesting art work to match.
Good luck in the voting.

Thank you Robert for your review. Free Style it is described in the rules so I was inclined to write in prose. I had a change of heart and rearranged and added words to try to represent it in verse.

Yeah, covid is driving a lot of people a little nuts. I thought it was safe to snuggle with my cat, but now I hear they can get it too. I'm going to take my chances, tho. She's not going to miss out on any snuggles. Love the picture. That cat looks really pissed off. Wonder if she's missing her snuggles.

The title hooked me instantly, but the verses lack the oomph. Or perhaps it just didn't met my expectations after reading the intro because I was expecting some heated debate or argument with the phantom of Covid or something like that. Disappointed.

This made me smile and I loved the humour here, amid all the chaos and the death, if we can keep a sense of humour then this may see us through, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Haha, you paint the suffering well, Mystery Author. I enjoyed reading it although it is serious at the same time. The isolation, can and has, and still is causing many health issues among all of us. Thanks for sharing and best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

I didn't get this poem. I felt like it didn't read as a poem. It was just four sentences that were sort of disjointed. I think it was an attempt at humor, but it fell flat for me. That's a 'home office party' for one thing?
