This poem reminds us of the miracle of birth and the love and hope it brings. I like the metaphor of bloat for pregnancy (only after I looked up bloat in horses on the internet). Maybe you should put definitions of bloat and caul in your notes.

Aww, this poem is precious and heartwarming -- the birth of a foal. Did you actually witness the birth? Well, the readers did via your well-written imagery.
As an animal lover, I appreciate this poem immensely.

Hello friend, thank you for reading and enjoying. No, didn't witness the birth as the poem is fiction. However, I owned eight horses at one stage and have seen much. Blessings, Kay.

Beautiful story you've told in this poem, Kay, about discovering that your mare had given birth to her foal. So tender, the interaction between you and the mare, as she follows her maternal instincts, licking clean her brand new babe, freshly brought forth from her body.
The correct spelling is "caul," in stanzas 2 and 3.
I love your last line, "New birth, new life, forever dawn." And the photo is so joyful!

I thought I had it spelt incorrectly! Thanks. And thank you for your lovely review. I hope you are both keeping well Mrs Pizza. Love, K xx

You're very welcome, my friend. We're both managing as best we can, which is often a real challenge! Yet we must always count our blessings.
I sure would love a few nice slices of pizza! It's not as easy to get it, as it was before the pandemic. Some places have closed down, and others are only takeout or delivery. No eat-in restaurants, at all. We don't know how long this will continue -- maybe well unt6

As I was saying before the software bounced me out, we may not be able to eat in restaurants until well into 2021. Mmm. Pizza. I love it.
I hope you're keeping well also! May God bless you and surround you with His mercy and grace. Love, Mary Kay xoxo

We are allowed to eat out (with rules) we have no active cases in Queensland thanks to the vigilance of our Premier. Thinking of you my dear friend. Love, Kay xx

It's so nice that you can eat out in restaurants in Queensland, and especially wonderful that you have no active cases there. Thanks for your lovely thoughts. Hugs, Mary Kay xoxo

Good Morning my friend, Thanks so much for your in-depth review. Aussies have two loves, the sea and horses. I started riding at five years old. After my accident, I began a Riding for the Disabled branch. I had a riding school that wasn't doing well, decided to donate the horses to start the new branch for the children. Love, K.
