Ciao Poet I gave you your first vote!

For its beauty and grace I think comparing a woman with a butterfly works well.

I had to check out what ...butterfly kisses... are :

fluttering one's eyelashes against another person's skin

... heck , that must be titillating ( biggrin)

A movement that also imitates well butterfly wings that flutter! ..so great choice of wording

Your poem is a double delight :
firstly for its imagery effect
which then triggers a strong mental sensory feeling.

PS: the title in my opinion is too long ... and plain for such a lovely poem.

    Tempeste,

    You are the second reviewer to comment on my long title. I probably overdid it. I was trying to allude that my imagery could be either the butterfly flittering about the flower or the woman titillating her man. Methinks it is too late to change with the voting already starting (-;

    I got what you were alluding to but your whole poem already does that ..

    When the contest is over you can still change it to something more captivating .

    ️Ciao !

This is a fine tribute to the butterfly as it kisses the flowers and adds colour to our garden, these delicate insects are delightful, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

    Thanks Dolly for your acknowledgement of this post. Truthfully, the poem idea formed when I saw the butterfly flitting about in my yard. The contest rules morphed it to a longer more romantic verse (-;

A wonderful offering for the contest that certainly leads the reader on - wink, wink! ;) :) I think I would change the title, though, and leave the interpretation solely in the reader's court... sort of like "Lady in Red" or something... ;) :) ;) Great job on the poem!! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck! ;)

    Yvette,

    Honestly this poem idea started out with my seeing a butterfly flitting about in my yard. So my typical 5-7-5 morphed into 25 syllables for this contest prompt. I might have labeled my title as Scent of a Woman, the Al Pacino movie, but maybe I will change it to your suggestion ; ) :)

    Don't sweat my suggestion -- yours works really well too -- just think its 'double meaning' is best left to the realization of the reader (with no 'up front' prompting)... :) :) Take care! ;)

Great poem. So realistic and playful. Full of lovely emotions. Great presentation. This is a great entry. Top contender for sure. I would wish you luck, but you don't need it.

    So pleased you enjoyed my butterfly romance poem. Truthfully, the idea started today with seeing a butterfly flitting about in my yard. Then it somehow morphed into something different for this contest. LOL

    Normally my writing style is just 5-7-5. Longer verses are not in my poetry wheelhouse.

This is really, really good work. You've made this sound like many things. I like the flower's response to the butterfly's touch. I love the excellent way you've presented this and thoroughly enjoyed reading this well written work. Keep writing and very well done!

    Jeffrey,

    Thanks so much for your encouraging remarks about my butterfly poem. In truth, it started when I saw the butterfly glittering about in my yard. Then it 'morphed' into another idea(-;

A very well-written twenty five syllable poem about a woman's touch reminds of the touch of a butterfly's delicate legs lovingly touch and caress the body and her butterfly kisses do the rest.

    Thanks Sandra for your review and stars. In reality, the butterfly I just saw flitting about in my yard morphed into something else (-;

Now this is sensual poetry at its best. One can easily imagine this couple and the pleasure they get from being physical. The Speaker is definitely enchanted. Rod

    Glad you liked this Rod. The poem idea actually started with the butterfly flitting about me as I sat outside. Somehow it morphed! (-;

Good work and I love the imagery of butterfly and kiss. I could appreciate the butterfly kisses to mean, gentle, soft, peaceful and harmless kisses. Well captured. Good luck in the contest and thanks for sharing your thoughts.
