This poem will bring the reader back if they too have a stream which runs through the memory of their heart. We who can, need to be grateful for the gift such a stream and be honored. This is a lovely tribute to the spirits of the waters. Thank you.

This sounds like a nice way to pass some time. Being close to nature has a way of making you reflect on things, and also feel thankful about how beautiful this earth is. Best of luck in the contest.

I love to reflect and there really is no better place than outside by the water. I lose track of time recalling sweet memories.
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the upcoming contest,
Sally :))

Comment from Bobby Dean
simple and sweet. reminds me of growing up with the ocean right next door. Even if i had no one to go to the beach with, i would go by myself, and ride the waves by myself. And, though it isn't reflection I was seeing necessarily... but it was my place to reflect. just me and the ocean, weightless, riding the waves, and, as the poem puts it, thinking about the bygone days. Anyways, that's what the poem did for me.

Being with Nature and recalling why you are standing there, is the reason you are standing there.
Where in the world is there a better place to be than standing in a mountain stream.
It is your existence, your tranquility, your transformation.
As the salmon return their birth place, and deposit their eggs, they pass on.
You return to the mountain stream to physically, mentally, and spiritually regain your focus and reset your gyroscope, and gain the peace that Nature provides.
Always return to your personal universe and you will be blessed.

ElPoetry, Your comments brought to mind a great Native American story I heard once about thunder...when one hears thunder iy is the sign that someone who has done great things in this lifetime has passed onto the next life. I so appreciate you for your time reading and commenting on my work I hope you week is full of wonderful memory making events.

Good one! It is really necessary to once in a while take some moments to reflect over the things around us. It helps healing and regeneration. I found it an interesting peace to read. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I often wonder how poets come up with their poetry. This contest is an eye opener. I see that the brain power of a poet is quite amazing. Well done!

From only 25 syllables you managed to paint an entire picture. I can see the freshness of the woods, faintly hear the waterfalls in the distance. Standing on the stones along the river with nature all around you would be a wonderful place to reminisce silently and reflect on times gone past.
Great job!

Such meaning wrapped into such a small piece. Being at the age I am now I often find myself reflecting on those bygone days. But to tie it to the solitude of the mountain stream which is also conversely teaming with life was inspired,
Thank you.

I appreciate the two different meaning of reflection in this poem. The nature scene is well set to be either literally a stream - or the 'stream of life' while one stopped for a bit to remember other times!
Lovely writing! Thank you for sharing!
