The peace of letting go

by Peter Jarvis

Hold my hand,
My journey's end is near,
Softly, I drift into the unknown.

Hold my hand,
As I let go of pain,
Memories wrap me in their warm glow

Let me go
As I take my last breath
In the arms of our Lord, now at rest

3-6-9 Poem contest entry

Taking our final breath is a journey that we must all face at some point in our lives. I am now elderly and have a couple of serious medical conditions - I have had a good life and hopefully will eventually depart this life with no regrets. However, there is plenty of life left in the old dog!
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
