Race-Less Portrait

Race-Less Portrait
Challenge:
Can you describe a person without making any reference to race or ethnicity?
Biologists and anthropologists alike say that there is no such thing as race. That was a construct based on outward appearances. Yet, we still use race words to describe people daily. Can we as writers change this?

For this contest, provide a picture of a group people of a variety of ethnicities, the describe just one of the people in 500 words or less so that your readers will know exactly which person of the group you wrote about. BUT you must not use any race, color, or ethnic terms to describe that person.

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 52.00 member dollars. There are 5 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 72.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.

Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
