Here's an opportunity to publicly express your appreciation for the blessing of friends in your life! . . . On the other hand, if you think it's more appropriate, feel free to share the hidden pitfalls and negative sides of these relationships.
But did you realize 'friendship' has its own holiday? Yup. The first World Friendship Day occurred on July 30, 1958, in Paraguay due to an international civil organization named the 'World Friendship Crusade'. They hoped to spread and celebrate the concept of friendship regardless of race, color, or religion.
People took note! In 2011, the UN General Assembly decreed July 30 to be 'International Friendship Day' (a/k/a 'Happy Friendship Day'). The UN declared friendship can inspire peace efforts between peoples, countries, cultures, and individuals, and can link up the communities. Wow! Since then, countries around the globe have joined in, though calendar dates may differ. In the States, National Friendship Day is observed on the first Sunday each August.

Your Challenge: Create a rhyming poem on the topic of friendship!
Your only guidelines: Keep it nice and clean. The need for flags = elimination.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 5 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
