Alliteration Body Count #2
Poetry Contest
Write an ABC that goes through as much of the alphabet as you dare, with a twist: EACH WORD must start with the next letter of the alphabet, and you must make comprehensible sentences.
EXAMPLE 1
Aristocratic
Butts
Can
Deliver
Epic
Flatulence,
Guaranteed.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
-Minimum length of 7 words. No maximum.
-Each line must begin with the next consecutive letter. You may not skip letters.
-
"Mailman" is permitted
"Run-of-the-mill" is permitted
"Vice President" is NOT permitted.
Acronyms like "VP" are permitted.
-You may begin with any letter (doesn't have to be A) and you may go forward or backwards.
EXAMPLE 2:
Hitler
Gave
Free
Enemas,
Daring
Communists,
"Bombs
Away!"
-All variants of uppercase/lowercase are permitted
-Punctuation is permitted
If you reach all the way to Z (or backwards to A) you may continue wrapping the alphabet, like this:
EXAMPLE 3
Yoda's
Zoo
Animals
Behaved
Calmly
Need more inspiration? Here's one ChatGPT came up with in a couple of seconds:
Gases
Hilariously
Infectious
Jokes
Keep
Laughing
Merrily
No
Matter
One's
Perspective.
Quite
Rude
Sometimes
Though,
Unleashing
Vile
Wafts
Xenial
Yet
Zealously
This is a good example of a piece that does not make the best sense grammatically, but would be permitted by the rules of this contest. Let's rate it! Hmm, not too bad ChatGPT. Decent word choice, but your run-on sentences could use some work and the narrative is somewhat anemic. 3 stars. Can the humans do better?
(for reference, here is a link to the previous contest. Please note that the previous contest was unmoderated. This contest is moderated.)
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Sunday, March 24, 2024.
