When night comes, I go to...

Dreamland

by Boogienights

I had a lovely dream the other night,
where shadow dancers twirled across my wall.
My room became ablaze with fairy light,
I followed it and chased it down the hall.

The shadow dancers followed close behind,
quite curious, they all wanted to see,
just where the light would go and what they'd find.
Can't blame them, they're inquisitive like me.

So, all the shadow dancers and myself,
ran fast, but couldn't catch up with the light.
We finally found it hiding on a shelf,
it sparkled like the stars, to our delight.

The shadow dancers did a little waltz,
and I joined in although I danced alone.
Then dreamed myself a lover that was false,
but still, better than dancing on my own.

The shadow dancers took the fairy light,
our nice impromptu dance, was at an end.
The shadow dancers faded in the night,
and I retreated, to paper and pen.

Inspired, I wrote down each thing I saw,
the dancers on my wall, the fairy light,
a picture formed with words, for I can't draw,
about the lovely time I had that night.

Perhaps, tomorrow when I close my eyes,
and sleep transports me, where? I just don't know.
There'll be there waiting, some unique surprise.
Goodnight to you, I'm ready, here I go!
