The Changing Seasons

There is a smell of spring in the air
Green shoots sprouting up everywhere
Children shivering as March winds blow
While sunshine is melting the pavement snow
Creating puddles of water and pools of mud
Now they are talking of a possible flood
None-the-less, spring is on the way
And for a time, summer will be here to stay
Before we know it, here comes fall
Geese flying south with their honking call
Next, winter is here with the holidays
Parties and shopping and Christmas plays
Sledding and snowballs and angels in the snow
Popcorn and movies by the fire's warn glow
Change is coming, there is a smell of spring in the air
