He was ignored. Not ignored like 'I didn't see you,' but ignored like a disease. Dismissed. Criticized.
His own sister, to the extent they shared the same parents, that arrogant, nondescript person who told everyone.
It was a tiny taboo. He hadn't meant it. But, nevertheless, the strain it put on their relationship, the way it squeezed his heart, made him jumpy with anxiety, forced a conclusion, insisted on death.
What impression, he wondered, would he leave upon the world?
