A horrible happening during a repair mission in space.
Make a Wish
by HarryT
I ease out of the airlock and enter the cosmos. It’s amazing to be floating, tethered only by a polypropylene lifeline. An excited voice blares in my helmet, “Look out, space junk!” My heart jumps. I pull my lifeline and bang against the side of the space station. The junk misses me but severs my lifeline. I’m tumbling, falling toward earth. I burst into flames. A child on earth exclaims, “Look, Mom a shooting star!” She says, “Make a wish.”
