Burning Candle

by Marshal Oberer

The moon shines bright, you're my bestfriend. If you take away anything, I love you to no end.

Johnny and June are amateurs to us. We pave our own ground, we shake our own dust.

Our love is strong like a flame on the wick. The flame gets hotter with every passing click, Yet it's life gets shorter the hotter that it gets, like our passion growing daily, while our lives age so quick.

From blonde, bald to grey. These appearances all may change. The love I have for you, That will still remain.

They say death and taxes are what's certain, that much may be true. But they haven't had the honor, to be standing here with you.

In closing here me say this, forever I'm for you. I take this vow I wear this ring till our candles last flicker through.
