Let us keep
The Rules of Engagement
that save us all from a man
of enragement

Most of us stand tall
and keep our manners in tact
but for the arrogant man
it's a matter of fact

That we need the rules to protect us
from the dogs that infect us
for the rude things they say
we must keep them at bay

"Please", "Excuse me"
and "Have a good day"
all keep us from having our way
when we might feel
short tempered or under pressure
they help us all to
act in good measure


In a world that's gone crazy
sometimes maybe
we want to throw out the rules
but let's stick with them
and leave all the cursing
to mad dogs and fools
