An Apricot's Vengeance

by DragonSkulls

I heard the horrors in the store
and if it's true, you've started war.
Some friends of mine, from few I've got
were marked in price before they'd rot.
"You won't be bought." That's what I swore.

          I can't forget and won't ignore
the day you lugged them out the door.
Now I'm one pissed off apricot.
          I heard the horrors.

A sharpened knife pulled from a drawer
sliced deep their flesh and took their core.
They died for pie...then some forgot.
But heed these words, for I will not.
So watch your back forever more.
          I heard the horrors.

Rondeau Poetry writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
A rondeau poem is required for this contest. It is a fixed form of poetry. It is often used in light or witty poems. It often has fifteen octo - or decasyllabic lines with three stanzas. It usually only has two rhymes used in the poem. A word or words from the first part of the first line are used as a refrain ending the second and third stanzas. The rhyme scheme is aabba aabR aabbaR. See an example and instructions here.

It actually took me a lot more time creating this ridiculous
picture than it did writing this ridiculous poem. Lol. Thanks
for reading.

Pays one point and 2 member cents.
