They go to a nice place to eat

A chapter in the book The Tor

Mussels and Mushrooms

by Liz O'Neill

Background
After class they are going to a nice place to eat. There is no opportunity to report any exchanges they'd had with the others about noticing any difference in the feelings since the source of sadness

Previously:

While we nonparticipants spent time in our familiar busyness room, I took advantage of  a ripe opportunity to see if anyone had noticed a difference in the darkness and depression, they may have sensed before the lost, trapped spirits were set free.

I chose to approach Karin and Caren, they would know immediately why I was asking the question.

“Caren and Karin, remember our conversation from yesterday and the descriptions of what you’ve been feeling throughout your cottages? I was wondering if you noticed anything different when you woke this morning?”

*****************

Once again, Karin spoke before Caren. “I told Cyndy of our conversation and what you had hoped to do for those boys. We woke differently this morning. I planned to rouse Cyndy, but she was already in the shower, singing her heart out.

"I opened the drapes and let the bright light in. I’m on the east side therefore,  I get the best of the sun if it’s not dark, dreary and raining. It does rain a lot in this country. We’re from California, USA, so rain is an unfamiliar event for us.”

Caren was absorbing Karin’s every word. “I felt like the thick strands of a giant web had been snip, snip, snipped. Mary Jo and I both felt less constricted. Wow, that’s all that was necessary? Those spirits must be so grateful.”

“I’m humbled I was able to help them out.”

Karin asked, and Caren nodded in mutual interest. “So have you done this before, released spirits?”

“I work in an old psych hospital and the morgue was in the deep basement. When I have had to do a one-to-one safety sitting, outside the patient’s room, I have, over time, been nudged by many spirits to be released.”

Caren popped in a question. “Wow, weren’t you scared?”

Karin agreed. “Yuh, that would be creepy.”

I shrugged. “I just know if family or higher-ups had deemed it necessary for them to be there, they must have gone through great mental torment.

“Here’s how it usually happens. As I sit in the evening quiet, I frequently sense a presence to my right. When I ask if someone’s there, I often feel a positive answer. Asking them if they want to be set free, I dowse, that they do. I instruct them to go toward the light. In a short time, they leave.”

“Do others, where you work, sense them too?” Caren was asking for both of them.

I chuckled. “I was amused when one of the staff asked me if I knew there's a spirit on the third floor?”

Both Karin and Caren, simultaneously, asked, “What’d you say?” They were quite animated.

I told them, I had quietly laughed and explained to my friend what had happened. "My friend’s response was to exclaim, ‘Maybe the spirit isn’t still there anymore.’”

The three of us subdued our laughs, so as not to disturb the others, who were engaged in conversation or reading.

It was time for me to double-check our itinerary for the next day, Saturday. The list read: ‘Stonehenge, A crop circle, Standing Stones in Avebury', and hopefully, to top it off (pun intended), 'Silbury Hill.’

The sudden commotion indicated the harpists were getting off from classes early since it was Friday.
As I stood, Karin and Caren invited me and Cordelia to join them and others for supper. I accepted for both of us, with the note that I needed to finalize it with Cordelia.

As I approached her, with my mouth open to speak, Cordelia said, “I tentatively accepted an invitation from Cyndy for us to go out to eat with some others in our group. Whadda ya think?”

She wondered why I was laughing until I told her I had accepted the same invitation.

She laughed, saying, “Well, I guess we’re going, then. They said it’s just a short walk away. We just walk out of here, down Lemon Street. It’s called the Longstore, across from Fairmantle Street."

We were there in no time. Being focused on not getting lost, we mostly mumbled names of pubs and streets, no intelligent sentences spoken. We had a delightful time mixing with everyone.

The jaunt back was no more intelligible than the sprint there. We were with a couple of others who seemed to be spotting themselves for the same reason. No one wanted to get lost in Truro, England, or anywhere in England.

After bidding our walking companions a good night, we went inside and dropped onto our respective couches.

“Ugh, I’m so full. Good thing we had the walk back to help things settle. Cordelia, good thing you like stuffed wild mushrooms, they were monstrous.”

“The mussels tasted like somebody’d just run down the hill to the water and fetched them. They were so fresh.” Cordelia could have been a restaurant reviewer the way she affected her voice and dialect.

“I’ll put our white boxes in the refrigerator. Do you want to write your name on yours?”

“Nah, I carved a big ‘C’ with my fingernail on the top of mine.”

“And I’ll carve an ‘M’ on mine.” I flashed a big smile.

As I was shutting the door, Cordelia asked about Saturday. “So, could you remind me of our plans for tomorrow.”

"Well, we can’t say we were here in England, without having visited Stonehenge. I did some serious research while I was waiting for you in what we’ve come to call our busyness room. I was looking on the map to see where the Michael Line runs around here and if it goes near Stonehenge.”

I took a deep breath and let it out, leaving Cordelia in mystery as to what I was going to say next.

As I mentioned earlier, my dear friend designated me, to look up some strong energy spots. I am a dowser who deals with energies in the earth and above.

Among many others, there are two basic ley lines running through the world. Just as we have energy waves throughout the atmosphere, so too, do we have them within the earth's makeup. The energy below the surface affects the outcomes above. You may have heard the saying, ‘As above, so below’.

The two ley lines of which I speak, are referred to as the St. Michael line and the Mary line. The Michael line has a harsh dark feeling to it. The Mary line, skirting around bodies of water, has a fluffy energy sensation.

The Michael line is a rigidly directed line whereas the Mary line forms more of a weaving pattern across England. These two opposing energies do cross each other in several places.

“It turns out, what I discovered is the Michael ley line begins a few miles from us right here. Doesn’t that makes sense, now?”

Cordelia sat forward, with her eyes wide open. “I guess it certainly does make a lot of sense. That Michael line must carry massive mean energy.” Pursing her lips while nodding her head from side to side. “Okay… tell me where else will we meet…ole Michael.”

“One thing I read in my research is, since at least before the 20th-century, many believed the churches were built on power plots which were previous Pagan gathering places. So it seems these energies were perceived long before churches were built.”

Cordelia shuddered as she said, “I suspect we’ll be seeing many churches or cathedrals on our venturing. I don’t know why that thought makes me want to scrinch up, but it does.”

Cordelia is a harp therapist and is a friend of Madeline, whom she invited to go with her.

A harp therapist goes into hospitals and plays certain chords to help patients heal.

A chord is when more than one note is sounded at the same time.

Inner dowsing is when someone has a gift of knowing things, of sensing and being drawn to various energies and spirits.

Inner dowsing is when someone has a gift of knowing things, of sensing and being drawn to various energies and spirits.

Dowsing with a device means the dowser needs a pendulum or other device to read the energy.

We don't know why dowsing works, that is not important. But it is important that we know how, when and why we use it.

We use it with respect for others' privacy and to bring about good. It is a way of measuring, moving, or neutralizing energies.
I have a FB page, Dowsing for Beginners if anyone is interested.

A labyrinth has a direct path into the center and a direct path out from the center, unlike a maze which is intended to create confusion.

Foreshadowing is a foreboding foretelling of an event to come

A wonderful ley line map. The Michael Line is red and the Mary line is green
