Reflections on old age

A Few Insights on Aging

by Terry Broxson

I laugh a little easier.
Things seem funnier.
It is easier to smile.

I don't stress.
It is easier to cry.

I say "Thank you" more.
I listen a little more.

I understand acceptance.
I don't like acceptance.
But I accept it anyway.

I think I can spot sincerity.
It causes me to trust a little less.
And sometimes it causes me,
To trust a little more.

I regret less.
What I do regret,
I regret more.

I don't miss things.
I miss people.

I am alone.
I am not lonely.

My guilty pleasures now,
Are not guilty.

I have more tolerance,
Until I don't.

I don't know about God,
I don't know if God knows about me.
