A poem about my nephew
My Precious Namesake

My husband and I never purposely tried to have kids; we always had the mindset that if we got pregnant we'd be happy and if not that would be cool, too. Right around the time we decided we loved being just the two of us, we discovered I couldn't have kids anyway, which worked in our favor. I did use to think, though, how cool it would be to see traces of myself in a son or daughter. God granted me that opportunity with my nephew.
We share a "beauty mark" above our lip that nobody else in our family has. We also share a birthmark (same shape, color, size) on our thigh, and we have similar teeth. My sister gave him my middle name, which was such a sweet gesture.
He's the sweetest kid, and I love him immensely!
