Leave Me Alone

by Peter Mac

I am alone.
I want to be alone.
I frown at love, I dread fellowship.
Leave me alone.

I am at one with myself,
I feel, I breathe, I experience.
I often feel pain, I rarely feel wanted.
Leave me alone.

The sun keeps me warm,
The moon gives me comfort,
But they are far away, untouchable,
And leave me alone.

We were once in harmony,
But then you wanted more, too much more,
You took what you wanted, without thought.
Leave me alone.

Don't hurt me anymore,
I am tired and sore,
I push back, but hold back.
Leave me alone.

You use my soul to kill me,
You take and don't give;
My children, my resources, my nature.
Leave me alone.

Soon I will have nothing,
You will take it all.
I am the Earth.
Leave me alone.
