The Taj Mahal (Persian for Crown of the Palace) was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1631 to be built in the memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal (Chosen One of the Palace), who died on the 17th of June that year, while giving birth to their 14th child, Gauhara Begum. Construction started in 1632 and the mausoleum was completed in 1648, while the surrounding buildings and garden were finished five years later.

The Manyoshu is the oldest collection of Classical Japanese poetry, compiled sometime after AD 759 during the Nara period. It reflects Buddhist teachings. The Manyoshu is divided into songs about love and songs about mourning the dead. The form is 5-7-5-7-7-7
