Worldly Woes

He was feeling lonely.
It was years since anyone had come to visit, and even then, it had not been for long. They had come, got what they needed and left him with a hole in his heart and the longing for them to return.
Had he done something wrong? They were lucky to visit on cleaning day. He was not known to be so house proud, but he must have sensed he was going to have company. It was a nice memory.
The Man in the Moon curled up in his crater cottage. He would not show himself tonight.
