Time Flies...

Is It Halloween Again?

by Boogienights

It's Halloween and I forgot,
to buy some costumes for the lot.
My kids have nothing now to wear,
perhaps some glitter in their hair?

Maybe black marker 'neath their eye,
will make them a bit zombified.
I have old clothes to rip a bit,
although I'm not sure they still fit.

The kids aren't happy I can tell,
but I'm a bit upset as well.
Because it's candy I forgot,
I didn't give it any thought,

Apples I have, somewhat rotten,
it's all I got cause I'd forgotten.
They're healthier, I justify,
my kids give me the evil eye.

My kids are going out the door,
one wears a sheet that I adore.
Two eyeholes cut, it makes me cry,
blue gitter's in my daughter's eye.

A fairy without any wings?
"Of course!" I lied, "there are such things."
A skeptical look is what she gave,
it was quite clear, I'm not her fave.

The rotten apples, one by one,
left my house, soon I was done.
I'm buying stuff now for next year,
I'll be prepared when it gets here.

My kids brought lots of candy back,
some snack-sized snickers in their sack.
My diet's shot, I ate them all,
Halloween's not bad after all!
