MeatLoaf

by aryr

A special song that means the world to me is 'I'd Do Anything For Love' by MeatLoaf. The words mean that he was willing to do absolutely anything for love!

It is truly a whimsical song but whimsical in a certain way.

But alas, MeatLoaf is now dead, so his songs are history. How can a man chose the name of MeatLoaf when he is able to identify who he truly is. Marvin Lee Aday, which he legally changed to Michael, was born September 27, 1947 and died January 20, 2022, he was 74 years old and he died with his wife, Deborah Gillespie at his side.

He was a talent beyond talent. His talent lay in his truth that he told through his songs. He was amazing.

I was entrapped by his music because he started out as a country singer then switched to rock n roll. There was always a touch of truth in his songs for which he truly declared in his words.

The only song that he didn't claim as his own were the words to Amazing Grace, he truly didn't have a claim. But oh, I wished that he'd sang, just once, those wonderful words. He would have done it justice. This was a song of fallen disgrace, of total destruction. It was a favorite of weddings and of funerals, it was a song that fit just about everything.

But I digressed. Back to MeatLoaf. He was a great singer, he seemed to capture his audience. It was a shame that he died, but we all grow old.
