Simon is not a cuddler but he loves his humans

Our cat named Simon

by Joanne Gill-Maddick

Simon is a very handsome house cat. He’s not a cuddly cat but he does like human interaction.  At bedtime he follows me in the bedroom and jumps upon the bed and rubs his head against my arm. He then gets comfortable in his own spot away from me.

Sometimes when I lay on the couch he will lay next to me,close enough without actually being in my arms.  When my husband returns home from work he will jump down.  Almost as if he doesn’t want Donny to know he was laying next to me.

He shares his time equally with both of us. He literally talks in his own language.  He will go to his bowl of food and meow until one of us tops it up for him.  Even if it’s full he’s still not satisfied until you top up his bowl with an handful of fresh food.  Even though he’s an house cat he enjoys time outside.  He likes to sit on the patio when the weather is nice though he doesn’t venture far.  There’s times he doesn’t want to come back in.  We will wake up in the middle of the night and go check the door to find he’s there waiting.

He loves to sit on every window cell in the house from the living room to the basement and when he’s not there he’s curled up on the bed. His life ain’t so bad.

We bought him his own little bed which he probably snuggled in a couple of times. He tends to like the full sized bed much better.

He was quite hyper as a kitten and tore up furniture and clothing.  We weren’t too happy about that but he has mellowed with age and has become a contented and quiet cat.  The house would be quite empty without him. Animals make great company and Simon has grown on us.
