He wasn't that scary after all
Big Bully
by Heather Knight
Lily was fed up. Just because of her sweet face , the other kids in her grade thought she was a doormat.
'Will you leave me alone?' she shouted when Bob pulled her pigtails.
Bob just sniggered and left, his two minions by his side.
Lily's mum told her not to worry.
'You have to show those kids how strong you are.'
'But how do I do that, Mum?'
'You'll think of something.'
However, Lily had to put up with some more stupid pranks.
One Friday, on her way home, she heard screams. She looked towards the river and saw somebody in the water. Bob was drowning, while his friends looked on.
'Why don't you help him? she asked.
'We can't swim.'
Lily jumped into the water and managed to bring Bob to the river bank. He was a sorry sight. Wet and contrite.
He never made fun of Lily again.
