Hearts in Pain

by kahpot

Hearts in pain, forever embrace
Embrace their love though torn apart
Apart for time while distance reigns
Reigns, though bound in memory's truth
Truth that bleeds, and needs to be sewn
Sewn by those whose failures impaled

Impaled with words of truths neglect
Neglect that parted souls so pure

Pure, these hearts then coming of age
Age now stilled, drained of innocence
Innocence that frames future needs
Needs, now confuse two hearts in pain

A poem about two young people I met whose parents went to great lengths to
keep them apart (they were together when I met them briefly)
I took a "wee" liberty with this post, I believe in the loop form that the
fist and last word of the poem should be the same, I have chosen to
use the title of "hearts in pain" to start and finish this loop form
Thank you Kevin Klier for the artwork
