Going to Grandma's

by Carma McNeil

“Charlene, get your coat we are going to grandma's today.” Charlene heard her mother holler from the kitchen as she was hanging up the phone. She quickly ran to the closet to put her pink boots on and grab her matching coat. Grandma lived just outside of town on the family farm.

Charlene not only enjoyed being at the farm, but she also enjoyed the drive there and seeing what animals crossed the road in front of the car. Today's drive consisted of only two little cottontails.

Turning into the long driveway, which led down to the old two-story rock farm house. Grandma was standing out on the porch, which wrapped around two sides of the house. Charlene hopped out of the car. “Has Molly had her baby yet?” Charlene yelled. Grandma grinned, “Let's go see.”. Off to the stables they went. Inside stood Molly proudly by her new baby.
