I told my mom Grandma asked her to help me with my assignment about places to find fossils. She sharply remarked that she was overwhelmed already, not counting the burden Grandma was. Gesturing in the direction of Grandma’s bedroom, she said: “Anyway, that’s the only place I can think of.”

In my family it was common to refer to old people as 'fossils'. When I was younger, I thought that was so funny and it always me laugh. Now that I'm over 60, I tend to frown upon this ridiculously rude epithet!! LOL...
