Freedom Is A Colour

Black, the colour of my childhood

Purple, colour of mommy’s tumefied face

White, colour of the knuckles that struck

Red, colour of Mom’s courage to stand up

Green, colour of her hope for a better tomorrow

Blue, colour of her freedom from abuse
