Woe is Me

by BermyBye50

In dust and ashes, I ponder drearily,

as hope meanders lost and wearily,

Through the wilderness of life,

a soul adrift, consumed by strife,

Seeking solace, seeking meaning,

in this world so dark, demeaning,

Longing for a glimmer of light,

to guide me through the endless night.

Oh, the woes that plague my mind,

like whispers from a ghostly kind,

Echoes of the past, yet haunt,

casting shadows, bleak and gaunt.

Through the thicket, dense and deep,

I stumble, weep, and lose my sleep,

For in this maze of despair,

no refuge from my soul's nightmare.

The world, a cold and callous place,

where kindness hides without a trace,

The wind, a mournful symphony,

whispers tales of lost harmony,

Each step I take is forgotten above,

upon a path devoid of love,

And as I walk this desolate shore,

my spirit sinks forevermore.

My heart, a vessel filled with pain,

a melancholy, ceaseless rain,

A tempest brews within my soul,

engulfing me, consuming me whole,

I cry out in the wilderness,

my voice a futile, plaintive mess,

But in this vast and barren land,

no solace comes to take my hand.

The stars above, nightly mock my plight,

shining with an indifferent light,

As I wander, lost and forlorn,

a ghostly specter, tattered and torn,

The moon, a pale and distant guide,

illuminates the tears I hide,

But darkness creeps, the shadows loom,

and I am trapped within this tomb.

Oh, woe is me, the lost soul's cry,

a lament echoing to the sky,

In this wilderness, so vast and grim,

I search for solace, hope so dim,

But still, I strive, though filled with despair,

for a glimmer of light, however rare,

To find my way, to break these chains,

and emerge from sorrow's endless plains.

Yet in this tale of woe, you see,

a spark of resilience within me,

Though lost and adrift, I yearn to find,

a ray of hope, and peace of mind,

For even in the darkest night,

a flicker of hope can cast its light,

And so I wander, weary and free,

seeking redemption in the mystery.

In this wilderness, I'll strive and roam,

till I find my place, my heart's true home,

For though the woes may never cease,

I'll seek my solace, find my peace,

And though the journey may be long,

I'll battle on, both weak and strong,

For in this wilderness, I shall survive,

and one day, my soul shall thrive.
