Just a fictional conversation between a person and plant

You are going to live

by Mickamus J

You know you are going to live right?
I will no longer listen to your groaning and complaining nonsense.
It was just for one day, that I forgot to water you,
That is all!
It is not as if it was for a month like the philodendron.
You don't see it complaining or groaning like a baby, do you?
It survived and even looks better now,
so don't you go saying you dying and all that.
Do you know how much I treasure you?
Anyways, who will I be able to complain to?
You are always just next to me when I cook and clean for the family.
And you are the ones that little Missy would water even if I have not.
What are you on about?
Can't you just let go of that and start blooming, for goodness' sake?
Stop your leaves from drooping and browning, can you?
It is just great, that you would abandon me now.
When everyone else is either missing or gone from the family.
Do you not see that I need you now, more than ever?

Who is going to keep me company in the mornings as I clear brekkie,
And who would help me recount the previous day's conversation with my family?
Tabby is not going to help, you know.
She is just going to just disappear in the morning with her friends,
Only turning up for lunch and pretending to care about me- humph!
I don't know what to say to you, with your leaves drooping the way they are.
What happened?
I can't remember a time when you were this fermented and broken.
I wonder if Jenny dropped you and put you back in a panic.
I need to ask her, but she is never around anymore.

She would be the one I would talk to before she got big,
It was Sheryl, before that.
And it was John at first.
Where has the time gone?
I have been looking after you pretty well, you know.
I even brought you to Mr Tom, our gardener.
Before when you were a youngling and not strong enough to brave the cold.
What is then? Did I miss something?
Was there something in the food that I gave you recently?
I must have been absent-minded or busy with something else.
What can I do now? I am going to call Tom and ask him what I could do.
I am going to call him now,

Oh dear, I forgot, Tom is gone and now only Jimmy is around.
What a nitwit I am!
Oh, hi Jimmy, I have a problem with my plant,
It looks like it is going to go soon.
I was wondering if you could help,
You can that is great!
See you then!
Well, that is good, and I feel better already.
Now, Jimmy is going to come and help you get all better.
You know it is true, so stop your whining and complaining.
Shocks me and gives me acid, each time you groan.
When I see you in the morning.
Just you wait, Jimmy is going to fix you all better soon.
What, stop it.
Of course, he will,
There is no doubt about it.
He is going to fix you and that is that.

You are going to be around, even if I am not you know.
I read that your kind live longer than mine,
You know if your kind was here way before we walked around.
I don't know who told me that, but I am sure it is true.
So don't you fret or worry, Jimmy is going to get you back to health in a jiffy.
Now, I am going to rest for a while,
I am sure Jimmy will pop by soon.
Meanwhile, you just hang in there.
My, I feel a bit dizzy.
