Making My Way

by Nina Sexton

Making my way through this thing called life
Trying to hide the marital strife
Walking on eggshells - dare we cross the line
Tommorw - a Freudian slip with a bottle of wine
Now, hush your mouth and be a good wife

To start each day with the shrill of the Fife
Makes one beg to be stabbed with a knife
I've untied my strings - but, dare we align?
Making my way . . .

A lifetime of memories could not beat the rife
The sins of time have become most trife
No longer are the days when we fine dine
Forever no more, former Valentine
Enjoy the echo in its afterlife
Making my way . . .
