I Miss Winter

by Eternal Muse

I miss the winter and I miss the snow
that spreads its carpet on my lonely  lawn;
I see it in my dreams, the sparkling glow
it leaves when falling in the early dawn.

I live in southern lands where there's no trace
of snow and blizzards, only lush palm trees
bring on their own but diff'rent style and grace;
Alas, I long for winter reverie.

I'd give so much for luscious pair of flakes
melt in my mouth and purify my mind -
Oh, the majestic snow, you're all it takes
to feel the solace that I couldn't find.

I've lived in southern states for seven years now, after leaving Long Island , New York. For some reason, my biggest nostalgia is for winter and snow.
