Finding Your Muse Club ~ Switch the POV
Jack
by K.L. Rockquemore
Temptation
has gotten the better of me if I’m caught his wrath I’ll feel curiosity killed the cat, step by step on eggshells I inch. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy
Isolation
and fevered fingertips echo insanity across five hundred crisp white pages
methodically stacked,
bulging eyes
seize
I
freeze.
Trepidation ices my spine eyes well lips quiver mouth runs dry, like a tempest my heartbeat thunders against my ribs from terror I shudder. Sensation
of adrenaline courses through my veins a silent scream swallowed ominous thoughts surge walls compress throat constricts breathless hysteric I panic Jack’s manic... DANNY!

Finding Your Muse Club event this week was to select a favorite book,
extract a scene and write it from a different point of view = POV.
Stephen King is one of my favorite horror novelists and The Shining,
is a classic which became my muse.
My intention was to capture the extreme fear that Wendy felt when
she discovered Jack had gone insane and that she and Danny were
trapped with him until spring.
