Remember the Sunny Days.

by Peter Mac

Five thousand years ago,

the sun came up like a daily birth,

to a clear, sparkling, Earth.

Today the sun arose,

blind in the fog,

choking on smog.

In five thousand years' time,

when the sun comes up at dawn,

it’ll still be bright, orange, and warm.

But we won't see it.

10 Line Poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem of any type. But it should have a total of 10 lines.

I don't normally go for the doom-and-gloom stuff, but 10 lines seemed to
shout out 3 x 3 and a punchline.
Photo of the sun and pollution was taken in Witbank in 1990.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
