How we are seen by Him

How He Sees Me

by C.M. Brown

The pianist,
To the carpenter,
A skilled mechanic and a doctor.
A specialists in field of use, a title, a trade
They trained, they learned.

I am a simpleton. A measly grocery worker.
Nothing to my name. No skill, no trade.
High school education nothing more nothing less.
I wish I could say I had something to offer,
Something more to give.
But my brain is so simple, numbers upset me.
Problem solving belittles me.
I enjoy the things professionals make, build, create.
I wish I could say the same.

But He has seen me,
From His lofty throne He sees me.
The ant among the blades of grass, yet to Him
I am a tree, a tree among many.
He sees within, more than just a simple tree.
He see my rings, many rings. Scratches on my bark.
He sees the slow decay within me that spreads and stops each day.
He forgives me, he looks down from above and forgives even me.

He is the specialist, the Expert in all things.
The one who made experts and specialists.
He needs no written diploma or degree.
The Earth is His accreditation.
His Word- our curriculum.
He gives us something more than mere education.
A way of life, so simple.
He asks for a humble heart, a teachable mind
A willing ear, an open mindedness to discern.
The right, the wrong

Thank you God for drawing this one.
This simpleton from nowhere, from nothing
I have nothing to offer, nothing of value to give
My life is all I have to offer and even that is not enough
You deserve everything, so much more than little me.

Still you see me, you see more than me.
Potential both here and now, forever.
Thank you, thank you for seeing even me.
