A Settling Truth

I fear that most have lost their dreams,
for life's a ruse too fraudulent.
When years seep softly through the seams,
we question how those years were spent.
 
Yes, age corrupts the goals we've viewed
while longing for those days of youth.
We've settled more than we've pursued
and witness now, such bitter truth.
