This work has reached the exceptional level
With honour and respect always

Your life, your all

by Wendy G

I’ve never seen your face

Never held your hand

You died before my birth

In a land of burning sand

.

He loved you above all other

For you were my father’s twin

Identical, and inseparable

As one, through thick and thin

.

He cradled you within his arms

As you took your final breath

He wept at your body broken, torn

Another victim of evil Death

.

So no, I never felt your touch,

Never heard your cheerful voice

I weep for one I never knew

Loyal service was your choice

.

Your life you gave so willingly

I honour you, so young, so strong

Respect and love from family …

To Uncle Bert – my tribute song.
