Even for pets
Perfect love casts out fear

My dog's water phobia (hoses, sprinklers, even warm baths) is extreme.
I paddled in a shallow rockpool at the beach.
A long leash kept him close, but dry.
To my delight he overcame fear, choosing to be with me. Cautiously approaching, he voluntarily got wet to his knees.
Such love!

Anyone who knows my dog will be amazed. His fear of water is palpable. He even finds it hard to go for a bathroom break on rainy days.
Today marks four years since we adopted our beautiful, loyal, loving and faithful dog.
What a beautiful milestone for him, and what a gift for me, on this anniversary.
He remained uncertain, but went in several times, seemingly more relaxed with each venture. This is how a dog expresses his trust and how he says "I love you!"
