The Art Of Deciphering

After thirty years of marriage, I was convinced I could read my wife like an open book.
Just like this morning, for instance. She unsteadily rolled out of bed moaning, her hands crushing her temples.
‘Hmm… cramps, sleepless night…. Monthly thing,’ I deduced, so it’d be strong coffee instead of her usual tea.
“It’ll pass, honey,” I consoled her.
“It was your snoring, Walter. Period!” She snapped.
That last word got me confused. Fearing the perfect storm, I boldly brewed both.
