Promises made should be promises kept
though fingers both, are hovering,
a signal to say our promises we-
share, so keep our position deadlocking.
Should we prove equally capable
then we should sit across that table,
a face-off is more acceptable than-
the loggerheads at which we're able.
A border shared will keep apart-
untrusting factions hesitant,
and so, equally both control
where nothing else we find relevant.
But if a finger accidentally nudged
begins a consequence of worldwide heat,
there is no telling to what advantage, but,
too late we hear the war drums beat.
So we should abide by promises made
with fingers clutching guarantees,
so, to-give-your-word as-in-a vow
