The other day I saw this pair

Of seniors kissing ‘neath a tree.

God knows how long I chose to stare.

Embraced they lingered happily.

Then I saw her caress his cheek.

He spoke so soft I could not hear

Each word of love he chose to speak,

“ . . . Remained as one another year.”
