The Little Woman

There is a little woman within the heart of me
who gets stressed periodically and longs to be free
this little woman of stature not of voice
once made following Jesus her choice

She was brought up to respect her elders and not cause a fuss
as she grows older it seems she must
endure the bossy tactics of relatives and friends
because control to some, is imperative till the end

If she is not careful anger is displayed
in the typical artistic fashion hot and frayed
is she allowed an opinion, not it seems to some
until they get the disapproval look oh what fun

the old gal is getting older now too old to change
and besides she's lazy and disinclined to rearrange
that which is part of her until the end
but Jesus is still important and indeed her friend
